In this video we put a Turbo on the 60’s go kart! What we needed to do was make a turbo manifold, oil system, and electrical system to make sure the turbo could run completely autonomously, that way when we hook it up to the engine, we would know that there were no issues on the turbo side of things. After we did that we ran this turbo kart under boost with 2 carburetors, made custom intake piping, and finally revved it up and tuned it so it ripped!
Before we began the install we filmed some awesome driving footage to get a preliminary test so we could compare before and after the turbo was installed.

I'm doing something similar on my gokart. But my gokart has a ninja 500 engine on it so I feel like it's gonna be more of a pain
ya, run one carb before the turbo and adjust the main jet and or needle. why did ya'll do this?

you can't blow through on a gravity system.. and those little carbs won;t hold boost in the tin bowls.. you need an electric pump that will maintain 2-4 psi above boost pressure and a boost referenced regulator..

This could have been so much more simple. And duel throttle? one for your hand and one for you foot? You don't need an efi to control that thing just some knowledge. Good work so far though.

Hey guys what do you run for timing? Can you show me your timing map? I’m fuel injecting a Supercharged Honda GX390 using a Microsquirt. I’m nearly done with the project, I have to create my own base tune and I pretty much have everything figured out except what to run for timing?? I’m use to tuning fuel injected V8’s lol

Draw threw turbo setup is the way to this to operate, put ur carb on the turbo intake and remove the carb on the engine, run ur charge pipe from the turbo straight in to the head port ,sorted boys ,?
I didn't hear sufficient spooling with means no boost, turbos need lots of heat to operate because turbos run off the exhaust system, I flip burgers for a living and I understand some thermodynamic principal's

Its better that you attach the turbo pipe directly to engine and use use turbo carburetor when needed

I did the same thing, but I’m running a mikuni with the bolt threaded in. I had the exact same issue. All you need is a pulse pump. Cost 15$ and solved all my problems , just make sure you put a t in the line that returns to the tank so you don’t flood the carb
