My Robot Lawn Mower,, the Worx Landroid WG795E. did not do well in winter, and the battey I build for it last year, out of old MAC book celles,, was,,, not reliable. So instead I am here putting one together from 18650 Li-ion cells, that came from other laptops.

Even just 1$ a month, comes out to the same as Binge-watching like 400+ of me Videos every month.
My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I’m trying to get the most out of my money, and my time.

why do you talking talking talking and say nothing its a nightmare to listening to much bullshits
"It runs with sparks and everything" <<< This sounds like ME! Loved the video, THANKS
Cool video!
Hej, fedt projekt. Jeg skal selv til at bygge et 24V batteri, men kan ikke finde et layout til et 7S som dit. Har du evt et link? Eller et layout du vil dele.
Hi sir. First of all i was new to this voltages stuff. My question is 7s 4p when they are fully charged they provided 28.9 volt only they read 24volt when it was like on 3volt.i have this speed controller that say 24v with 500w same as my dc motor does it safe to use like the one that you build in this video? Thanks
When you cut your lawn like that, you really need a lawn rake, to take up the thatch/moss, it will create.
This is why your getting alot of weeds, as your smothering the top layer of your soil. This top layer of soil, needs to breath, and cutting your lawn like this, will smoother that top layer.
Just thought you would like to know.
Its a neat lawnmower, but with that system, you need to help the top layer of your soil to breath, as the grass cuttings from this lawnmower, will just stay there on lawn, building up.
What exactly is the clear tape you're using to wrap the cells? I have not seen a tape like that before.
"Swollowed up"? MÃ¥ske "Swelled up".
Cool project, how many hours does it run before it needs recharging, and how many hours does the charging take?
How is this working out? Like your videos with this mover, I have just the same one and noone is making videos about them anymore 🙂
Do you get longer time on the gras with this setup?
Best regards from Sweden!
how the 48v builds doing?
Without a draining or heating cell in the pack and a balancer attached, where is the need for the bms?
how easy do you think it would be to make your own blades?
Dansker ?
avoid draining lithium ion batteries; bigclivedotcom had a video on it but basics is over time it creates a internal resistor and that will eventually lead to the short circuit:P
Hi Morten,
I would be interested how you tried to get self-sufficient of power production. I would like to watch a video on how you build your windmill, what's important when buying a solar panel. How to choose the right solar panel and everything what's important to be independent of power.
You could label the video something like "Home Datacenter, lowering power bill and power independence" to enforce even your server guys to watch the video.
Thank you for your time.
Was only watching incase batterys blew up
Cool yes but these ready for prime time, nah. You already spent longer repairing that than i do all month mowing 😛
24:00 blades have moved probably why it's not working
Hi Mortim how is the Vacuum Cleaner working? nice to watch you again and thank you
I think the 18650 can't take the load from grass, so it shuts down. Many of them have current limiting in the cb on them. If over heat then, they disconnect permanently – flat cells superior!
You will have to log it during use to tell.
at 20:16 you mowed the tangled string again.
I love your management system, it is almost the same as mine. "BUT", yours has a big problem. You have not installed a cup holder for your cold beer 🙂
You need to take the Li-Ion batterys in in the winter
Love the management robot system … I need to get one myself 😉
lol "Single unit management station " 🙂
You could calculate the average capacity (e.g. 2300 mAh) then write the difference on the label as well (so a 2450 mAh would have +150 above average).
Could make it easier to sort and balance the cells. Just a quick idea I had.
Thumbs up for the very important management tools!
What 18650 charger are you using? Thanks!
11:16 I saw metal going toward exposed metal battery contacts and my heart almost stopped…until I realized I'm not on electroboom's channel and the BMS has insulator on the bottom 😀
When you first filled the pack it looked like you didn't reverse the + and – ends across. The next shot had them all soldered…
I spent the next ten minutes waiting for the "Oh crap" moment. Did you rebuild it off-camera?
Cool video. It just seems like that mower is more inconvenience than it is worth.
please fully test the BMS, charge the battery on the bench checking each cell voltage, overcharge a little and see if the BMS protects the battery, then do a full discharge and make sure one series row does not drop in voltage more than the rest, and if the BMS trips if any go below 2.5v
Hey Morten, what happened to the big solar battery bank with the UPS and the shelf of gel batteries from cell towers? Does that setup still run? How much off the grid time does it give you (minus the server room, of course)? Or how many seconds would the server room survive on it? 😉
Do batteries make gulping noises when they're swallowing up?
I think I will be staying with cutting the lawn the old fashion way. High tech lawn mowers are too much work.
IT'S ALIVE :- )
Another entertaining and informative video as always Morten. The Little Menace lives!
It seems to me that one blade is mounted the wrong way… But welcome back lawnmower
