Jetson Nano “JetBot” machine learning robot review and demo. Includes hardware, software, Jupyter Lab notebooks for executing Python code, collision detection examples, and some introduction to training a neural network model.

The JetBot shown was supplied for review by NVIDIA, but this is not a sponsored video. If you are interested in getting a JetBot, I would strongly recommend starting on its NVIDIA web pages here: https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetson-nano-developer-kit

The JetBot Wiki, which contains all of the information required to build, setup and run vision recognition and machine learning on a JetBot, is here: https://github.com/NVIDIA-AI-IOT/jetbot/wiki

There is also info on full JetBot kits here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/jetbot-ai-robot-kit/

My previous review of the NVIDIA Jetson Nano SBC is here:

And my “Jetson Nano: Vision Recognition Neural Network Demo” video is here:

I also have an introduction to AI video here:

  1. I was just leisurely watching, but instead I learnt something that I need for my school assignment 😀
I just learned from your video how to train a data set for visual detection! Thank you so much!!

  2. All those packages & libraries on the jupyter notebook have to be previously installed on the local machine( desktop computer ) ? I'm quite a newbie on this topic.

  3. Can I use a slightly big motor and make this same robot will it support( I am considering it to incorporate in my project named smart shopping trolley , so I wanted to keep this mechanism in that to follow a human ) is this possible plss reply sir

  4. How long does this jetbot last on a fully chared battery? Like the 10000 mha battery that you use.

  5. wish to see this to be complete autonomous, robust, where we can use such devices to scan, search for snakes and make noise to keep them away from our home perimeter.. if there is one, i would love to see a demo 🙂

  6. So why does a "stupid" vacuum cleaner robot cost 500€ if you can build something this "smart" for less without economies of scale?

  7. How with one camera can it assertain depth? This nvidia is so frikin clever, I need one of these robots, if only to realise how ignorant and dumb I am.

  8. i bought the waveshare jetbot kit cost £250 not built it yet as im just learning the AI side on the nano first. the waveshare kit is not 3d printed parts its quality?

  9. Is there a way to tell it to go to a specific destination while avoiding obstacles in the process ?

  10. Chris, have you ever made robots using Lego Mindstorms Robotics kit? When I found a huge bargain from Toys 'R' Us for £120 for the RCX 2.0 kit I was happy with how amazing programming the robots to follow black lines using light sensors as well as touch sensors to show how well they interact. I wanted to use those Mindstorms and Technic parts to make a Wall-e robot but I never had the chance to do it myself. I was surprised Lego Movie 2 included the DeLorean and TARDIS used for the time machine parts. Sadly as you said from M-Disc Video: "Time machines don't exist." in order for you to see how those M-Discs deteriorate after a few centuries. Hehe!

But to tell you the truth, I was annoyed on how Lego dropped legacy support for the Technic 9V and RCX near 2006, and making their newer EV3 Robotic kits too expensive as well as the BrickPi from Dexter Industries. I don't think I should waste my money on those latest Lego Robotic parts that are pointless as I still like my RCX 2.0 brick with an IR Remote Control and my Technic Control Centre Mk II. Besides I think the Pi 4B seems reasonably priced and I believe we will have more ARM support for the apps that use Linux .deb packages – not just Android. But it seems like Apple is making more stupid moves; not just for ARM only OS for macOS, but they are pulling out support for Epic's Unreal Engine and more. The Unreal Engines are very popular for AI NPCs as well for a huge amount of gaming mod support, but for Mac users…they will have a huge shock!

  11. What an excellent video. Chris, all your videos are great. I personally can't stand the American 'hey, what's up guys?' style videos, so thank you for keeping to a common sense presentational style. But your videos excel at content and not just presentation. Please would you consider the topic of open architecture for hardware. IBM spun off their complete open design stack and the company was purposely headquartered in Switzerland to make it more attractive non-US based companies. How is this progressing and what implications are their for the future of computing?

  12. Impressive. I was wondering if the nano module can be used on Xavier NX developer kit, as the Nvidia documentation state they share same pin out. Already have the nano module but eyeing the NX development board with it support for M.2 drives support

  13. Collision avoidance is not working on my jetbot.
Could not read image from camera is the runtime error appearing.
Please help me with this sir.
I'm using raspberry pi camera btw.

  14. Thanks for sharing the project Chris. I sure hope Nvidia makes these kits available for educators as this really is the Lego Mindstorms of the 21st century!

  15. In a 20 years one neural network talks to another..
-Today i trained my first human 🙂

  16. A wonderful and informative demonstration Sir!!!
I want to know that how you have done TRAINING in 12:14. Have you trained new model in Separate Workstation and loaded the Trained Model
    OR
Training is done via GPU server
    Take Care

  17. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. This one in particular is one of the coolest I've seen on your channel. Thank you for the hard work you do.

  18. It could make for a neat cat toy. Teach it to perform different stunts or tasks based on which animal it sees under a variety of conditions. Or toddlers, puppies, any small silly creature with curiosity or skittish behavior. Is there a full cover for that bot? I wonder how well it would do on detecting stairs that are carpeted or feature a confusing geometric pattern.

  19. Am i the only person who thinks it risky to put a autonomous car running an untested model on a TABLE?

  20. Would love to see you expand on this robots capabilities! 😀 how about a hand that can grab drinks from the fridge? Okay a little ambitious, buuut possible I guess 😀

  21. 英伟达确实是好东西就是贵了一些,但是越贵的东西越好吗
