Very impressed with your workmanship and testing! I see your measuring rpms. I think you'll get more data by plugging your motor into a simple $20 'Kill-a-watt' meter. This will give you a look at motor input power, and it's a very simple addition to your teet setup.
It should be desirable to make the fins thinner. Also, if they are lightweight, the balance issue is minimized. Perhaps curved sheet from cans, plastic bucket, or PVC conduit.
If the fins must be kept relatively thick for structural reasons, at least try tapering the fins at the leading and trailing edges for minimal turbulence.

The fan would be more efficient, if, the swept areas for inlet and outlet were about the same. So, the top cover would need to be conical.
If the blades were also aerofoil shaped that would also improve efficiency, and reduce noise.
More (or even roughly the same) airflow with fewer RPM would seem to be more efficient. That’s like more miles with the same or less gasoline.

In all your impeller videos I've seen so far, I never see you retest the balance after adding counterweights or shaving off material, but I assume you do actually do this, right?
If you move the impeller after reshaping it to the tight side of your housing more air will be moved your fin ring become redundant after a bit of fudging
In essence go to mid point of each fin cut inclines from there to the center

Actually the "backwards" running impeller is the correct way for curved vanes. It is intuitive to think the vanes should cup the fluid to better move it. The opposite is actually the better way for it to run.
I bet the straight fins are faster at pumping air but easier to catch dust and needs more power and noisier.
But the most common impeller, the backward facing are much better.
OMG, the process of manufacturing the spiral housing made me orgasm.
I started to manufacture exhaust fans thanks to the videos on this channel. too top, speaking straight from Brazil.
I assume the motor is an induction one and the lowest of the three rpm s show, forward finned is drawing the highest power, if you have a way of measuring the amount of air that is flowing out, probably for the forward finned you get the highest volume out of the three variants, just my 2c, would like to hear from others on this line of thought..
