Doggie wheelchairs cost around $200. You can make your own for $25 or less. I don’t have a need for one, but I have had several requests for this project, and had most of the parts laying around the shop.

I realize this video is 6 years old….hoping I can still get a question answered: Does this axle get in the way of the dog walking? Concerned that his back legs will hit the axle.
This is the only design I’ve seen with no straps attaching the dog to the wheelchair. I like the simplicity but does it stay in place with the dog? Doesn’t the dog begin to slip out of the frame or off the seat?

This seems awesome! I have an 11 yr old 85 lb make boxer. I see you say to use thicker pvc, but what about the length of the pieces (you used 5.5") what should I use for a boxer? Are there any videos of a dog using one of your chairs?

I want to say thank you for coming up with such a brilliant idea because they are very expensive we did have one unfortunately a car did a hit and run and the thing that saved his life was The wheelchair that he had that is completely totaled we can't afford another one so when I found this video I'm in tears so grateful to be able to make one so he can walk again thank you
