We have our robot lawnmower one year and it’s honestly one of the best things we have ever bought! This video is everything I wanted to know about Robot Lawnmowers before we bought ours.

(This is where I got mine and I had no issues, but there has been some complaints on a forum I frequently recently about delays dispatching)

FYI: I think my M1000 has been replaced by the L1000

Note: I am recommending Worx as It’s the one I have, but I do not have experience with other brands, I’m sure there are other good alternatives too.

  1. This video has been 1 year in the making!

I've used 4 different cameras in the making of this video:
    – 2 phones
    – A DJI osmo action (go pro)
    – G7 DSLR

  2. Great information! Thanks… it made me realize that these mowers are not at all compatible for my property.

  3. Man, I wish this guy would review something I am actually thinking of buying. Pretty much flawless review.

  4. Is it bad my first thought when he brought up the pooh bear was that this video is now banned in China ??

  5. I wish someone would make a good robot mower. If robot vacuum makers made a mower it wouldn't need the wire and it would avoid all obstacles.

  6. I'd love to see the chaos unfold when 2 neighbors have robot mowers with wire fence requirements and then a 3rd angry neighbor removes the bordering wires and watches as the mowers swap yards and continue on trespassing eachothers territories for the rest of the day xD

  7. We have had one of these about a year ago and it gets stuck at least 3 times a day, also we have cut the the boundary wire multiple times

  8. 5:25 dang American and whatever mowers they rated are loud – the one we had couldn't be heard if you were 20m away….was rated at around 25db or close to that if I remember correctly…

  9. @ 12:55 if you live in a blue state get a CCTV, hire private security etc etc !! you can never be to careful !!

  10. Also, when is someone going to come up with a fertilizer attachment? Or even watering? Wait. You signed the nda right?

  11. Its It's good review. It is. The thing is… I feel like you forgot to mention how the ladies like a sweaty, lawnmowing man… just saying. Can't explain it. Can't (easily) make the lawn nicer then the robot. But.. I do feel like it might try to steal my lady. If she hadn't left. (I stopped mowing the lawn.) But it's OK. I live in northern CA so the wildfire will likely take care of it.
    Seriously though, good review.

  12. Great video, some depth of information lad, but I'm well equipped for when i get around to getting one for the garden though! Cheers, just subbed too! Hi from county Meath!

  13. Thanks for the review. I have a couple technical questions about this Worx mower and my yard. I would need to email some pictures so you could see what I'm talking about. Do you have a E-mail I could send some pictures to you and ask my question.

    Thankyou
    Dustin

  14. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if I kill all the golfers wont they lock me up and throw away the key?

  15. Very nice. My Ryobi cordless push mower only hits about 65 dB at my head while mowing. My electric Ryobi riding mower is a bit louder though. They are also all 100% solar charged so other than blades (my yard is not flat by any means) my lawn care is $0 cost of operation.

  16. burying wire is very easy if you use the right machine for it. There are small trenchers taht just pull the wire through the lawn a couple inches below the surface. I did a 1 acre lawn last year in just an hour or two. It was really easy and worthwhile I think.

  17. Why didn’t you install the extra sensor for detecting obstacles?

  18. Excellent video tutorial I have to say..very thorough….you should be paid for that review. Good job.

I have a lawn perfect for a robotic lawnmower. Like yours..I have a area (500m2) disconnected to the larger area by a driveway and I don't know how to get around this.

I do think you need a push lawnmower to go in hand with the robotic lawnmower.

  19. Part of caring for a lawn has always been seeing the stripes formed by the mower. Unfortunately, robot mowers remove that aesthetic feature of a well-groomed lawn.

  20. 11:18 most memorable part. Sharing a yard with pets could be problematic and maybe even traumatic. One bad event and it seems likely that the dog will learn to hate the machine and find a way to disable it. (like hitting the red button or flipping it over? 🙂 Some dogs are smarter than others and might figure that out.)

  21. These things sure don't coexist well with 411 flags. 🙂 My neighbor down the street has one and a local telecom is installing fiber to the neighborhood, thus all the 411 flags everywhere. They are not enough of a barrior for it to respond to them and they get all mangled. …hard not to giggle actually, but it isn't optimal…not sure what the best solution would be.

  22. I really enjoyed watching your review of your robot lawnmower. You have changed my views on such things. I had up till now thought they had to be gimmicks, surely. This video proves me wrong.

  23. I dont see why the mowers couldnt interact with a phone GPS instead of using a boundary wire. You could walk around your yard with your phone and the GPS data could be downloaded into the mower and it would use that information for a boundary because installing that wire is the only thing holding me back from buying one. right now it cost me 850 dollars every season to have a professional lawn service to mow my lawn each week. I live on a fixed income and ain't going to be able to pay this every year.

  24. I just watched a 30 minute video on cutting the grass… God help me, I was fascinated.
