I made this video to share one of my recent projects. This is a homemade, tracked, all-terrain vehicle, built almost entirely from scrap metal and junk that I was able to scrounge from parts boneyards and scrap piles. The entire project, from gathering junk to putting the final touches on the paint, took me about a year-ish to complete. I call it “The Tank.”

I’ve always had a love for the ruggedness of tracked vehicles and the plan to build one has been in my mind for many years. However, when doing my research, I couldn’t really find anything like what I had envisioned. So, I formulated a plan in my head, and started trying to gather parts as I needed them. This piece of junk is the final result haha.

I never drew a plan. It just wasn’t reasonable when I didn’t really have an idea of the parts I’d have to work with from month to month. Overall, I’d say that I’m fairly pleased with the final result regardless.

I hope that you might find some inspiration, or just some interest at the very least, from this project. If you would like to see more of these types of things on this channel, then please let me know by leaving a “Like.” I would love to be able to make things to share with you guys regularly, and that’s a goal I’m working towards.

Maybe I’ll run over something big with it next…
Thank you so much for watching!! Remember to “Like” and subscribe!!

  1. One thought, put a massive muffler on that thing. When I was a sniper in the army we used to hunt opposing units by the sound of their engines.

  2. The cruel appendix lately drown because pilot spindly tease except a overwrought justice. tan, ruthless slice

  3. I thought this video was from from like the early 2000s because of the 4:3 aspect ratio.

  4. that is awesome as hell and the price is insane ur a genius thats what i said the first 3 seconds after that Tank started up

  5. In Maine that would be rigged up to drag trees and be called a "Jitterbug". No matter what shape it takes tracks or tires. If it's a rig you thought up and threw togather yourself for logging it's a Jitterbug. You could have made a mint on that for 4 times the price 20 years back probably still could.

  6. I know I may be off my rocker, but I much rather have this vehicle than the ripsaw. It’s cheap, easy to work on and has more possibilities when it comes to extra features you can add at your leisure.
I can’t think of anyone I know who has $400,000 to spend on a ripsaw and justify it.

  7. Do a 460, New Process 435 4 speed, Dana 60 rear with disc. Upgrade the frame to aluminum. Put a serious 2 seats in it. Elce fan. Windshield with wipers, heater inside so going up in the mountains in the snow. 25 gallon tank. It could be slung very low with swing axles as the three roller on each side, lighter. Building a track system can be done using various high end types of fibrous belting. Cleats, lugs, and multiple tracks for would be great. I'd go with 18" wide for exilant flotation. 350hp would be plenty. Wouldn't be a Ripsaw, but it could still be done cheap, light, and fast. With a 435 NP I'd be bullet proof, but you could still free-wheel and park on any hill with it in gear. A parking brake would be just like a truck. Optional brakes on front rollers now having them be sprocketed as well. 4 wheels discs would be great.
