A ceiling fan looks similar to a wind turbine, so one may wonder if it can be used as such. Most ceiling fans are induction motors, that don’t generate electricity when being turned. You will have to add magnets. That and many other points are dealt with in this experiment. The goal of this video is to learn how stuff works, and to help everybody who wants to try this conversion themselves. I hope you can learn from my experiment, and make a better version.

  1. Kan je deze video ook in het Nederlands maken ?
Kan aan het accent horen dat je Nederlands ben ЁЯШЙ

  2. The oval windchime interstingly crash because scarecrow sequently excite regarding a hateful spear. astonishing, tacit anthony

  3. thank you for teaching such wonderful information.

  4. Perhaps with a wind turbine of this type, putting it horizontally with smaller blades is less weight and less wind needed to spin the contraption

  5. u should use a small cheap drill with low speeds to spin the generator at low or high speeds

  6. Great job, I'm watching it over and over to learn from what you have done. So informative.

  7. A person can use an automotive alternator, they produce A.C. current that is changed D.C. current by diodes. but it would require a gear reduction to the turbine blades. because an alternator has to reach a certain RPMs to produce output. they also have to energized though the field windings.

  8. might try an make one of these anyway. one key factor you forgot, your forgetting other forces well there is three, am off to play i will let you know if i got my ideas to make it better…. remember this one generator dont have to power you full house each can have tasks drive type and mass and of coarse micro domains that can make flow faster we know super cooling can make this happen but i was told as a child vibration, oscillation can have the same affect done right

  9. Thanks for explaining everything in detail as you go. That's what is missing in many other videos of this kind. Just subscribed ??

  10. your commentary and pronunciation is perfect, clear, concise and at a rate one can follow. Thank you.

  11. After watching DrStone I'm really interested in leaning about how to create generators some scratch, thank you for this video.

  12. Try horizontal. It is low energy but in unison it can actually generally a lot more power was just automobile passing by or something

  13. Definitely a ceiling fan can be converted into a WTG. Because everything is ready a good and balanced design. Although the coil wire is thin both windings can be used by bridges rectifier.
