  1. I'm looking at their electric, battery powered model, but I'm concerned that the self propelled function will kick on more often than needed, causing unnecessary battery drain.
    ?..?

  2. Thanks for this video. Yesterday my new super rec. came from a box store with that cable not hooked up. I loosened that cable bracket and with enough slack was able to hook up the cable. Now the machine does have a slight lurch when taking off. I pretty much figured i had to back that cable off and you confirmed that for me. thanks. Now if I can get it to go as slow as my old Snapper I'll be very happy. It gave me a work out today and these old legs sure feel it.

  3. Thanks for making this. I love the personal pace mowers, I've decided I won't buy a non-personal pace mower. I just wish some other manufacturers would do something similar so I have more options when it comes to mowers. Toro is fine and all, I just don't get how nobody else has copied it, the patents have to be close to expiring.

  4. If the wheels lock up in reverse, lift up the rear wheels so they lose contact with the ground. Problem solved.

  5. G'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia ??, I'd just like to commend you on this video, it should be watched by every shop that sells Toro mowers. For some one, you, have taken the time to explain how to ergonomically adjust the different controls and levers to make controlling the mower a more pleasurable task, you also troubleshoot many of the problems that are encountered in mowing a lawn well done ? and keep safe kind regards John

  6. I am kind of lawn nut myself, I have a question, for the past 40 years I own Toro lawn mowers.and very happy with their quality I am on the market for a new Toro lawn mower I am not sure whether to buy a personal pace smart stow recycler or a super recycler, I am a senior I need to save some money,my worry is the transmission on the recycler has a plastic cover are the gears also plastic? I would appreciate an answer, thank you Nick

  7. Thanks for reminding me of all the reasons I hated this drive system with my last mower.

  8. Hi, I'm Rose from Marietta GA, my back hurts from bending over , I need to learn how to adjust the height of the mower.. please and thank you.

  9. A couple of points is – Personal Pace is not a traditional 'self-propelled'; it is more push assisted . You just walk forward and press forward. If you're used to the mower going, and you following along, or you're used to the mower going the same speed up a slope as down a slope, then this will take some getting used to. Mine is new, and there is effort to get it come back even on a slight slope, when you think gravity would assist, it's still a pull back.

  10. Thank you, I just got mine today and I didn’t understand how to work it until I found this video.

  11. If you have a rough yard, this is the jerkiess self propelled on the market. Convert it to bail activated and I'm on board!

  12. So what if our system doesn't have the adjustment knob and simply has a nut in its place? I'm assuming it is still okay to make the adjustment with a wrench? I am also assuming that my mower does not have the adjustment knob because as the push button start?

  13. I have one of their first models . Bought used for 30 bux. Haven't changed the oil in 15 years..only add a little twice a season, and it still runs great. On hellish hot summer days the ease of an assisted push mower cannot be over-lauded.

  14. Toro makes the best mowers, as long as there is a Honda engine on top!

  15. When people have a manual for this mower, what he said in the video explains it in the instruction manual . Folks go to unpack a new mower and dont read the instruction manual from front to back……..READ! Dumbass people ask stupid questions, LOOK AT THE INSTRUCTIONS ! If you cant figure it out, you dont deserve to have this kind of mower. Get a Walmart $199.95 push mower for dummies.

  16. Thank you! I just bought a model 20334 (with horrible instructions included, both on putting together and on how to use it). Your video was really helpful. I'm sure I'll be coming back to view again. 🙂

  17. Thank you, you helped me make up my mind and will buy this in March

  18. Mines a 2011…. I dont take care of it. And it still runs fully. Just now replacing the drive belt and it takes a good 10 pulls to start (maybe cuz the plug is coated in flour)

  19. what is the element thing on the left side of the mower? and how do you use it?

  20. this is the first lawn mower i have bought in 15 years. What is the element valve thing on the left side of the mower? And h

  21. Thanks for the information. However, the lack of focus on the video is a bit annoying.

  22. I like to walk fast sometimes jog, my personal pace is dragging on my strides. How to release drag for faster top pace?

  23. The problem is that you have to adjust the cable so that the spring connected to the belt pulley is tight, and also so that the cable at the handle will move when you push the handle. It’s hard to get the cable tight up top, and have the right tension on the belt. The belt either is spinning the wheels with the handle not pushed in. Or it won’t spin the wheels at all.

  24. Just brought home a new personal pace 20357 power reverse, missing the manual, I do very much appreciate the tips

  25. Excellent Tips n Tricks!
I will be purchasing a 20373 model next week for use in a residential lawn mowing enterprise.
I chose this model primarily for the blade stop function.
My 30 year old silver deck JD has this and is great for navigating gravel areas.
I was hesitant about the personal pace, but everyone seems to love it.
I just visited my local dealer and shop tested it and it is much smoother than I thought it would be.
Your adjustment tricks will aid in finding the sweet spot.
    Thanks for the information!
    Dave

  26. I'm sending this to my neighbor. Time Master moves a little too fast for him. Thanks for the helpful tips.

  27. I have a 28 year old Toro push mower and had been thinking about getting a new Personal Pace model. NOT ANY MORE !!

  28. Kind sir can you tell me if the mower you were showing us is front-wheel drive or rear wheel drive and also could you tell me on the new power forward and power reverse if you feel that's just more to go wrong are you actually being pushed backwards when you pull the handle up or does it just allow it to Freewheel it seem to work very nice in the videos but I'm wondering if that means that there are two drives and that you are going in and out of the drive again and again which might cause premature wear thanks for your time
