https://getconnectedmedia.com – Did we really just say ‘lawncare robot’? The future is now, thanks to Husqvarna! Their robotic automowers have been around for several years. As prices and accessibility have improved, they are ending up on more lawns. In fact, overseas, and especially in parts of Europe, they are commonplace. But it’s only recently that we’ve seen them roving around in more people’s yards in North America and especially Canada.

The Husqvarna Automowers come in many models. They range from models for small yards with basic needs to ones that are more heavy-duty for more commercial applications. How does one deploy a lawn mowing robot at home? What does the process look like? And most importantly, is it safe? These questions and more are answered in this video, where we have an installation expert walk us through the entire process of installing a brand new Husqvarna 430X Automower into a yard with some unique challenges. If you’re considering one for your home, this is a video you don’t want to skip.

  1. This is a really great review. I have a similar yard and had so many of the same questions. So, I thank you for really taking the time to make a quality review

  2. @10:19 the blades do not spin in one direction. It spins in both ways. No need to flip the blades.

Have had an automower for four years. The installer guy does not seem to have much experience with it. The info seems to be there, but falls short here and there.

  3. What most people are failing to factor out when looking at the cost is the value of their time. The gas mower may cost $600 but YOU have to operate it as it will not let itself out of the garage or maintain itself. The automower will come out at 2AM and cut your lawn before you have a chance to get out of bed. So if you have the capability of attaching a value to your time you will easily see that you can leverage your time without a lot of effort in maintaining the lawn. If you fail to recognize this or resist the idea of this you will never get the concept of automation even while you operate your dishwasher, HVAC, washer/dryer, irrigation system, indoor plumbing, heated water, alarm clocks, etc…The automower is really cool and if you want to get that "I enjoy mowing my lawn" out of your system you can always keep a battery powered manual mower in the garage just to keep from being hypocritical in your luddite tendencies…

  4. other than the run time what the difference between models? can I get away with the small model for half acre?
