Project: http://hackaday.io/project/1797-autoCut—robot-lawn-mower-on-steroids

Here’s a mowing test with the new laser cut mowing plates. They reduced the noise a lot, but there’s still some vibration due to worn out bearings (previous designs rather unbalanced) and inaccurately modified motor shafts (previous designs needed a flattened shaft)

  1. ok, now add cutting lasers to the rotating laser cut plates, basically replacing the utility blades with blue lasers. Then you would have a laser autocut lawn. It is a nice mowing machine.

  2. Looking good. I like how batteries are hot swappable in concept – a feature that absent on comercial offerings
I am thinking on a combine mower/poop cleaner machine that is usuful in the yard with pets
can't wait to see the final result of your project

  3. My first thought is that I really like how the blades are in front of the wheels – one of the things I hate most about my mower is that the front wheels mash down the grass and the blades can't cut it – which looks like crap when it springs back up.  My second is that it's a lot quieter than a gas mower; my third is that I want to build one.
