  1. I get it. Nice. I can see other uses for this and I do believe the oil filter demo was simply a …. "DEMO" of this mechs concept. Yes, I agree OVER engineered for an oil filter. Though this device is fantastic for COMPRESSION applications such at fitting male female parts tightly or even pulling them apart (pushing them apart) with a simple modification. Thank you Bricolage Charchaf for this vid, your concept, and demonstration. Rock on brother.

  2. How many brake pads do you think you'll need ? How can you swing that oversized thing to remove an oil filter in the positions car manufacturers put them today. A chain bolted in two positions on a steel bar does the same thing without all the fangled engineering. Bad idea in my opinion.

  3. 5 minute in before I see what you're making – a wrench that couldn't have enough room to turn on 95 percent of vehicles.

  4. World’s worst oil filter wrench, can be used on 1% of vehicles I’ve ever encountered

  5. $8 will save all the time and work……just buy a filter remover. Interesting but.

  6. I thought you were gonna make a CALIPER compression tool outta those old brake pads and threaded rods.. The filter wrench is a good idea, but due to its size, kinda limited to application.

  7. If you keep it then you just bought it and wont get back the core charge. Lol well in Hawaii at least. ?

  8. Great idea, but more practical other uses than removing a tight oil filter, unless the engine is out of the vehicle.

  9. Note This tool requires. Removal of engine & all related parts to change oil filter. New oil change price $ 1, 950.00 + parts.

  10. Perhaps you should throw them away and watch daytime television. More productive.

  11. right so just throw them away and use my hand and nylon strap if i get in a pinch…wtf

  12. So how the hell you get that to fit under the hood? I got the 5.4 and that shit wouldnt come close

  13. No.
    Why conserve a used filter?
    Hammer and old screwdriver.
Punch the screwdriver straight through the filter, a safe space away from the threads inside.
    And now you have leverage.

That's how we do it in desert country.
Still got my ega screwdriver that i bought in '92 an its still working.

    Peace and respect from
    Cape Town
    South Africa

  14. Oil filters are only supposed to be installed hand tight and if you're so weak you can take one off with your hands then you need to just take it to the shop or let your girlfriend do it.

  15. Why not just go to harbor freight and buy oil wrench pliers for $4.99?
But good stuff !! Keep up the good work.
