This is the turbo diesel go-kart I built with the single cylinder Kohler diesel engine.
my friend Tommy had been wanting to build a diesel go-kart for a very long time oh, so I decided to not only build a diesel go-kart but make it a turbo diesel go kart.

The point of this video is not only to have fun, but also to learn through experimentation and to give everybody an idea of the benefits of diesel fuel vs gas, and one of those benefits is much more torque and efficiency.

if you look at the mpg of a gas car and a diesel car, the diesel is almost double the gas mileage, by experimenting with diesel I am learning so much that I didn’t know before, and the reason I like to share these videos with everybody is so everyone else can also learn as well through experimentation.

  1. Awesome build! This thing would be a beast ideally geared to the engine. On the topic of alternative diesel fuels, I'm really curious as to how it would run on Chinese takeout restaurant deep-fryer oil.

  5. You should put a Mega Squirt ECU on it. You would gain a lot more control and power of that engine / turbo

  6. Gee, wonder why the top speeds were the same… Couldn't have anything to do with the engine governor could it? WTF did he expect? Can he really be that dumb?

  7. When pouring the fuel, instead of having the opening in the can at the bottom ( causing the gluck-gluck effect ), instead have it at the top. This way you won't have a pocket of air causing a vaccuum ( space increases as liquid poures out and air is not added to maintain atmospheric pressure ) whitch is trying to hold back the liquid, but aventually gets overpowered by gravity which in turn instead forcibly increases the pocket of air to fill the ever increasing space in the can at atmospheric pressure as the liquid is being poured out and doing so in gulps. This way the surface of the liquid will for the majority of the time not cover the entire opening thus allowing air to enter and fill the ever increasing area replacing the space that was occupied by liquid doing so steadily.
