We made an foam F-18 and put a real turbine engine in it. What could go wrong?
Thanks US Navy for sponsoring this video! Watch the other videos in the #SailorVS series I’m in where I compete against a Naval aviation engine mechanic on a component from a real F-18!

  1. its not F-18, it is F/A-18
the F in planes such as F-16, F-15, F-22 etc. stands for "fighter", and these aircraft specialise in air to air combat.
the A in planes such as the A-4, A-6 etc stands for "attack", and these planes specialise in ground attacks
when the F/A 18 program was in run, boeing (company who developed F/A-18) gave two planes to the US NAVY: F-18 and A-18. bt us navy did not liked operating two airplanes. so boeing merged the F-18 and A-18 to make the F/A-18, specialising in both air to air attack and air to ground attack.

  2. I'm Just imagining peter flying his f18 around a real carrier and landing it on the runway & haveing people's confused faces, as it looks life-size at distance but becomes small up close. would be funny

  3. Why dont you just make a jet with 1 exhaust then put the engine inside. The one that you make have 2 exhaust but only 1 engine

  4. You should have used asbestos for the heat shield ?️

  5. I remember playing with little rubber-band and balsa planes and thinking they were amazing. This is just beyond cool!
