Most grass cutting machines don’t move along that quickly. Well, Honda engineers are working to build the world’s fastest lawn mower.
Those geniuses aim to keep the look of a traditional mower, however they want it to be capable of operating at 130 miles per hour. Top Gear Magazine asked Honda to create the lawn mower, only giving the crew until June 17th to complete the task.
The team is essentially upgrading a standard machine, replacing the engine with one used in motorcycles.
Wheels and tires from a four wheeler were fitted and the chassis for the blades was switched from metal to a glass fiber material. Two electric motors along with lengths of brake cable spin at roughly 4,000 rotations per minute making the grass cutting process a breeze.
A road tester at Top Gear stated “There’s no scientific reason why we asked Honda to build this. The grass needed mowing and everything on the market seemed a bit slow. Why take an hour to mow a football pitch when you can do it in five minutes?”
