  1. We looked for days of time. Literally 12+ hours to redo our yard that's about 1.5 acres. Used a $800 locator….. Finally looked and saw this. Came in to grab a piece of junk amazon radio and I found the break in 10 minutes. People, don't waste your time on anything else. Thank you!

  2. Thanks! Worked like a charm. Would never have found the break without this tip. Was resigned to having to pay alot or spend a ton of time fixing this. Just as well our radion has an AM band – first time we've used that in 20 years+!

  3. Will try this just got to find a radio … hope it works , thanks for the video ?

  4. It works! The signal is not always equally strong along the wire, but with a bit of experimentation I found a wire break today I would never have found otherwise. I connected one of the boundary wires to the guide wire connection, as this seemed to produce the strongest signal for me (mine's a McCulloch.) I followed the signal as far as I could, then did the same with the other boundary wire joined to the guide wire connection. Between the two, the wire turned out to have been broken, probably by an animal digging, and then reburied! Actually learnt about the technique elsewhere, but thanks for confirming it with this video.

  5. Good tip. It works.
Problem is, that no one have a portable AM radio anymore these days, because of modern cell phones etc.
Your parents or grannies may have one stowed away in the attic if you are lucky, and the battery compartment has survived the old batteries left in there for decades.

  6. Just to add to the list of people grateful for you posting this…. I was dreading having to find the break in the loop wire and figured I might find something here on YouTube. You saved me so much time and trouble today. Using my little pocket radio within 20 minutes i’d found the break and 15 minutes later it was all fixed. Perfect. Thank you so much for posting. ???

  7. this worked really well for me; I found the break(s) fast and fixed with a couple of spare guide wire connectors – thanks for a really useful video.

  8. Great video Wendy! Really convinced me to buy it. I was very insecure about the quality but that doesn't seem like a problem. Thank you!
