The jacks have a very poor quality worm and nut . I have many scissor jacks I use regularly. Because of the quality issue they need to be replaced with a degree of regularity commensurate with their redundancy. One I will mention for your thoughts. I weld a socket set universal coupling onto the (jack) drive end to the male end of the (UJ) knuckle. Thereby using a battery drill with a 3/8" socket driver in it to jack things up quickly , engage reverse and dump it back down. Interesting thing is the UJ collapses faster then the worm and nut int the Fiat scissor jack . That particular jack has been unusually reliable. ALL the others are Japanese that I had used for various lifting duties.
I wonder if the wiper motor can be reversed? Thanks for the insight you provided.
steering system? no need for steering motors, you have 360 steering with two drives and only need casters on other wheels. just seen how old this is I'm sure you figured that out..
Gordon D., here I was wondering how to make linear actuator work in reverse . Eg; a door opener. I know there is a way to do so but I hit a road block in my mind lol. But I do love your videos some VERY interesting ideas. 😉

As i am in search for finding the optimal setup for my 2axis software independent motion simulator which currently works on wiper motors, (will perhaps change to more powerful motors with metal gears, they did break under 70-80 kg) i enjoyed your video a lot. thought of car jacks as a mechanism too but after seeing your video the speed wont be up to simulation standard. did you have any experience with boat winches? how fast they operate when compared to wiper motors? check out my work here, used arduino. https://youtu.be/qdlBg3cWWBI
